📅 Rehearsals & Show Day Procedures

Our recital is a major milestone for our dancers, and we want to ensure every performer is prepared and confident! Below are key details for Class Photo Week, Dress Rehearsal, and Show Day.

📸 Class Photo Week: May 19-23


Every dancer will have professional group and individual photos taken during their regular class time.

📌 Location: Music in Motion Dance Studio

📌 What to Wear: Full recital costume, correct tights, shoes, and hair styled as required

📌 How It Works:

Classes will start with a mini-showcase before taking group photos. Every dancer will get one individual pose per costume. Digital class photos are included in your recital package!

🎭 Mandatory Dress Rehearsal: Saturday June 7th

📍Location: Harrison Opera House

📍Who Attends: All Level 1 & Up dancers

(No dress rehearsal for Pre-School & Kinderdance students in Show A—those dancers will arrive early on recital day instead.)

📌 Rehearsal Schedule:

Act 1: Arrive at 10:00 AM | Rehearsal 10:30–11:45 AM

Act 2: Arrive at 11:30 AM | Rehearsal 12:00–1:00 PM

💡 Important Notes:

NO costumes—dancers must wear black dance attire, tights, and performance shoes.

Hair must be in a slick ponytail or bun.

Parents may stay and watch from the audience.

Dancers may be released / picked up by parents after their last routine—you do not need to stay for the entire rehearsal.

📌Show A (Pre-School & Kinderdancers):

Saturday, June 7 at 4:00 PM

Arrival & Check-In Times

2:30 PM – Jazz/Hip-Hop/Tumble, Boys Hip-Hop, Ballet/Tap

3:00 PM – Move & Groove, Discover Dance, Creative Movement

3:30 PM – Pre-Ballet & Tiny Tappers (go directly backstage)

📌Show B (Level 1 & Up):

Sunday, June 8 at 3:00 PM

Arrival & Check-In Times

1:30 PM – Level 3, 4, & 5 dancers

2:00 PM – Level 1 & 2 dancers

Check-In Process:

All dancers check in at the main lobby before being escorted backstage.

Parents must say their goodbyes at the Hug Station—only staff and volunteers are permitted backstage.

Students should arrive fully ready (hair, makeup, tights, and undergarments on).


Backstage Rules & Pick-Up Procedure

To ensure a safe and organized dismissal, we follow a strict check-out process:

📌 Pick-Up for Show A:

Parents will check out dancers from the 2nd-floor lobby after the performance. Only ONE parent per child is allowed upstairs for pick-up. Students will not be released until the show is complete.

📌Pick-Up for Show B:

Act 1 dancers can be picked up during intermission or at the end of the show from the 2nd-floor lobby.

Level 1, 2 & 3 dancers will be picked up at the end of the show from the 2nd-floor lobby.

Intermediate & Advanced dancers will exit directly to the lobby for pick-up.

💡Parents are welcome to go backstage after check-outto help their dancer collect belongings!


🎒 What to Bring


To keep everything organized, dancers can bring a small plastic bin or basketlabeled with their name and a photo of themselves

✅Must-Have Items:

Costume(s) (packed in a labeled garment bag)

Performance shoes & tights (included in costume package)

Hair kit: Gel, spray, bobby pins, hair ties

Makeup kit: Lipstick, foundation, blush, eyeliner (if applicable)

Snacks & Water: Only water, protein bars, cut veggies, or crackers (No nuts, juice, or soft drinks)

Entertainment items: Books, coloring pages, puzzles (No electronics or valuables that are not clearly labeled.)

🚫DO NOT BRING:

Fast food, cheesy/dusty snacks, nuts, juice, or soda

Jewelry, nail polish, or extra accessories.

Toys & Games with many small pieces.

Markers (crayons ONLY)
